M&O Stamp of Approval

Earning the M&O Stamp of Approval validates the rigor and effectiveness of your facility management and operations and gives your stakeholders the assurance they need that effective risk mitigation is in place. This thorough review provides accountability for the operations team, service vendors, and leadership. CenturyLink has committed to certify 57 of their data centers for Management and Operations (M&O) excellence.

M&O Achievements:

Tier Certifications

Tier Certification of Constructed Facility ensures that a facility has been constructed as designed, and verifies that it is capable of meeting the defined availability requirements. Even the best-laid plans can go awry, and common construction phase practices or value engineering proposals can compromise the design intent of a data center.

The sites below have already been awarded Tier Certification of Design Documents and have progressed to Tier Certification of Constructed Facility after passing exhaustive review and demonstration of capabilities.

The Operational Sustainability rating, when determined by Uptime Institute, becomes a suffix to the Tier Certification.

Brill Awards for Efficient IT

Uptime Institute grants Brill Awards for Efficient IT (Brill Awards) to projects, ideas, and products that significantly improve energy productivity and resource use in IT. The program recognizes efficiency in thebroadest sense of the word—efficiency of capital deployment, technology, design, operations, and overall management. As a result, the Brill Awards showcases companies and technologies that improve the industry's ability to sustainably deliver IT services to the end user.

2014 Achievement

Data Center Facilities Management:

CenturyLink developed a rigorous facilities management program in order to maintain consistent availability and efficiency across a varied and changing footprint around the globe. These standards have been modeled in the ITIL spirit, and are the result of years of planning, consideration, and trial and error. (APAC)
